The new head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE), Juan Ramón de la Fuente, presented part of the team of collaborators who will accompany him at the head of the agency in charge of the country’s foreign policy.
Yesterday the chancellor gave his first message to personnel from the chancellery and members of the Mexican Foreign Service (SEM), in which he outlined the priorities of Claudia Sheinbaum’s foreign policy, and one of the central points will be the defense of the Mexican community in the foreigner.

Meanwhile, Roberto Velasco Álvarez will remain at the head of the North American Unit.
He made four new appointments: Raquel Serur Smeke, in the undersecretary for Latin America and the Caribbean. Enrique Ochoa Martínez was appointed to the Undersecretary of Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights.
He also appointed Pablo Arrocha Olabuenaga, a member of the SEM, who has been assigned to the embassy in the United States and the Permanent Mission to the UN, as legal consultant.
In the General Coordination of Consulates – a new area that will prioritize the President’s interest in serving migrants – Jorge Islas was appointed, who since May 2019 had served as consul in New York.
