Members of the Christian Democracy (DC) urged the Government to take a stand against the acts of violence that have occurred during the last period in the southern part of the country.
During the last few days, various acts of violence have been witnessed in the area that was formerly in a State of Constitutional Exception, which has urged various sectors to have the Executive reconsider installing said measure again.

Regarding La Moneda’s position, Senator DC, Matthias Walker, indicated that “the Government has to make decisions” so that “we have convened the mixed commission for Wednesday to vote on the critical infrastructure project or Intermediate State, as the Government has called it. We are going to keep that summons because As legislators we cannot evade our responsibilities and neither can the Government evade theirs”.
“Either the Government decrees a State of Constitutional Exception or we parliamentarians have every right to make proposals within the framework of this mixed commission on critical infrastructure so that the Armed Forces can preventively protect the country’s highways (…) What is not The government can do is to do nothing,” he added.
For her part, Senator Ximena Rinconstated that the benches within the party will hold a meeting to evaluate issues of national relevance, such as the Intermediate State of the Government.
“You cannot be ambiguous or not have a position. Several months have passed since the President’s government Gabriel Boric he won the election and he knew that among his issues were security issues, economic issues and the issue of the Constitutional Convention. Therefore, we cannot continue to wait,” said the parliamentarian.
“We need decisions. It cannot be that the agenda is set by the people who use violence as a tool. For that, the government has to act,” Rincón closed.
