During the day this Monday, the head of the bench of the DC senators, Ximena Rincón and the deputy chief Matías Walker, held a meeting with the President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric and the Minister of the Segpres, Giorgio Jackson, to discuss the ” National Agreement for Citizen Security” promoted by the Executive.
For his part, Rincón valued the meeting with the President, anticipating that they will make themselves available to advance towards a legislative agenda.
“As heads of the DC senators caucus, we met with the President of the Republic to discuss the issues that are of concern to citizens, security issues and economic issues. And we have expressed to the government all our will to advance in a legislative agenda and work with the citizens that allows us to give certainty, ”he said.
“Issues of citizen security, public order and cost of living issues must be addressed decisively and quickly. The death of this little girl in Chillán is a sign of the urgency that has to mark the work of the Executive and the Legislative Power, ”she added.
On the other hand, Deputy Chief Walker pointed out that they accept “the call of the President of the Republic to create a great agreement on citizen security, which is not only related to the legislative agenda, but also how we protect the infrastructure that is related to with basic services and highways, just as we face drug trafficking, organized crime, delinquency and terrorism.”
