According to the INE’s Oversight Commission, the politician exceeded the maximum amount he could spend on his promotion. Álvaro Obregón’s candidates could spend up to 3.3 million pesos, however, the Morena candidate exceeded the amount by more than 190,000 pesos.
This is because he did not report to the INE the hiring of advertising on Facebook, banners, utilities, making promotional videos, as well as health brigades, in addition to receiving donations from prohibited entities.
The General Council of the INE agreed to give notice to the local and federal Electoral Courts so that they can determine whether or not to remove the victory, that is, whether to annul the election, in which case a new process would have to be called. López Casarín still has time to appeal.
And what is happening in the Cuautémoc municipality?
While in Cuauhtémoc it was Alessandra Rojo de la Vega, who obtained 46.3% of the votes, she lost the title of elected candidate, since the Electoral Tribunal of Mexico City (TECDMX) decided to annul the election on August 31.
The cause was the consideration that the candidate of PAN, PRI and PRD committed political gender violence based on the complaints filed by her opponent, Catalina Monreal, who competed under the colors of Morena, PT and PVEM.
According to the Court’s ruling, Rojo de la Vega exercised symbolic and invisible violence, as well as the use of negative gender stereotypes against the Morena member due to her family ties with Ricardo Monreal, her father, a politician who now coordinates the Morena party in the Chamber of Deputies.
