The mayor of Bogota, claudia lopez announced this Tuesday that next September the Day without car and motorcycle in the capital.
This measure is taken after several cancellations so far in 2022, since the measure had been announced in July, but the Ministry of Mobility announced that it would not be carried out due to a pandemic.

“This year, as we were peaking due to the pandemic, for precaution and care we did not do it in February, it will be on September 22 the Day Without a Car and Without a Motorcycle in the city of Bogotá. We are going to join the world celebration of the Day Without Cart.taWe are also going to have our public and shared bicycle system operationalLopez mentioned.
That Thursday, September 22, is also celebrated the World No Car Day and it is an initiative that has been proposed by the citizens.
“September 22 is the World No Car Day, remember that at the beginning of the year we traditionally celebrate our No Car Day in Bogotá, which I want to remember is not an initiative of the Mayor’s Office, it is an initiative of the citizens. It is established by mandate of citizenship at least once a year let’s do the day without a car“, concluded the district governor.
