The Head of Government of the Capital District, Nahum Fernández, stressed that the “barracks go to the town” day deployed this Saturday throughout the country constitutes a historical reference in Venezuela, representing the mobilization of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) towards the communities, in an exercise of coordination and civic-military fusion, which demonstrates that before any aggression the people are willing to defend the Republic.
“We are making history, an armed force full of town and a town full of its armed force,” he said during telephone contact through Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).
In that sense, he emphasized that this day evidences as the Bolivarian Revolution has transformed the concept of the FANB. “When the military came out on February 27, 89, it was with the order to kill the people. Notice how the revolution has transformed the entire concept, now military and people we are a single family, a single person, a single historical subject,” he said.
Fernández stressed that during this initiative had an active participation of young people, women and older adults in neighborhoods, fields and large cities, who assumed the defense of the homeland, sovereignty and independence before imperial aggressions.
“Our message was clear today: the fanb and the people are more united than ever. And that sends a firm signal to the international stage, especially those who add us: whatever happens, there is a town willing to defend our republic,” he concluded.
