The Municipality of Montevideo joined the campaign to fight breast cancer with activities and in this framework held a day on Wednesday in the communal esplanade, to provide preventive information on this disease and promotion of healthy habits.
The activity was attended by the following organizations:

In a conversation with Grupo R Multimedio, members of Knitted Knockers (Prótesis Tejidas) Montevideo, a non-profit organization that had its beginnings in the United States, expressed the importance of holding sessions of this type, so that it can be spread throughout the country the existence of these organizations.
“There are people who do not know of our existence and women who have had a mastectomy come to us, they never had access to something like this and they are amazed that they are free and much lighter than breast prostheses,” they said.
Regarding the creation, they explained that they are made up of a group of volunteer weavers and the woven prostheses are 100% mercerized cotton, therefore “it does not itch or bother” and the filling is silicone wadding.
