Mayor Carolina Cosse participated in the mobilization

On Avenida 18 de Julio in Montevideo, a march organized by Women in Blackagainst gender violence. This November 25 marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
Several social and feminist organizations gathered in the Plaza Independencia as every year, to march on July 18 to the esplanade of the Montevideo City Hall.
The march started at 6:50 p.m. from Plaza Independencia. Violet and black colors predominated, among men and women who decide to accompany the call.
One of the slogans highlights the right to live a full life without violence. Several interventions were made, and a speech took place on the esplanade of the commune.
The mayor of Montevideo, Carolina Cosse, participated.
“We must all get involved and contribute to eradicating all forms of violence against women,” Vice President Beatriz Argimón wrote this Friday.
The Minister of the Interior, Luis Alberto Heber, said for his part this Friday that the figures for complaints of domestic violence. “He has descended very little but not as we would have liked,” he said.
