After completing the release of Maximiliano Dávilaformer national director of the Special Force to Fight Drug Trafficking (Felcn), his lawyer Manolo Rojas denounced that a alleged violation of human rights of his client and reiterated that the process by which he was accused in the United States is invented.

“The legal and formal procedures have been violated, they have been violated by the Supreme Court of Justice, worse still, Interpol has not carried out due process and has not complied with the protocols. Not even he has been able to say goodbye to his family, all the people who have been extradited in Bolivia have of course had this right,” questioned the jurist.

Rojas indicated that his client was taken from the Chonchocoro prison this morning and They did not allow him to communicate with his lawyer defender before boarding the plane, which is taking him to the United States. There, Dávila is accused of collaborating with a criminal organization that crystallized cocaine in Bolivia to sell it abroad.

“Between 5:00 and 7:00 in the morning they boarded the plane and then had a stopover in Peru. We unofficially understand that he (Dávila) It is located in Peru and there is a special department of the DEA there.where he is making some consultations and some other procedures, prior to his arrival in the United States,” he assured.

For the lawyer, the justice system violated Dávila’s constitutional rights, former anti-drug chief in the government of Evo Morales, and approved the extradition request, which was completed three days before the judicial elections.

“The concrete facts of manner, time and place; when he did it, where he did it, who were his accomplices; That is an invention, but like any invention, it will fall on its own and we understand and maintain the words of Colonel Maximiliano Dávila, (about) that he is an innocent person and there he will know how to conduct a fair trial,” he added.

The former head of the Felcn can be sentenced to life imprisonment by the District Court of New York, which is the maximum penalty for one of the crimes for which Dávila is accused in the United States

Dávila is accused of the crimes trafficking of controlled substances and criminal association for the handling of weapons related to drug trafficking. The first offense carries a sentence of 20 years to life in prison and the second offense carries a sentence of 10 to 20 years.

However, American justice can condone the sentence of the former anti-drug chief if he decides to become an informer and snitch to the members of the criminal organization of which he is supposedly a part.
