David Sosa demanded that the Electoral Commission of the UCV publish partial election results

Sosa described as “embarrassing” the fact that Roangel Ojeda has created controversy by not publishing the partial bulletin of the FCU-UCV elections. He insisted that the established mechanisms must be followed if there are irregularities and not decide arbitrarily

The president of the Electoral Commission of the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), Roangel Ojeda, reported in your social networks that in view of alleged irregularities found during the election process, specifically in some minutes, a press conference is called on Monday, May 30, to give details in this regard.

In response to this announcement by Ojeda, the outgoing president of the Federation of University Centers (FCU) of the UCV, David Sosa, used Twitter to criticize Ojeda for having generated polarization on campus due to the non-publication of partial results; fact that he described as “embarrassing”.

He stressed that what should be done, if there are irregularities, is to challenge them before the electoral commission and if there are doubts with the decisions made by the Electoral Commission, they go to the Appeals Council. In other words, he emphasized compliance with established regulations in the event of alleged actions contrary to what was established.

In his opinion, Ojeda is “restricting” the right of students to exercise appeals with a tendentious handling of the situation and demands that he publish the bulletin in order to generate a climate of understanding between both plates that aspire to the FCU.

Since May 25, the day the elections were held at the UCV, controversy arose due to the slight advantage that the candidate Jesús Mendoza would have over Sebastián Horesok for the presidency of the FCU. That day it was said that on Friday the 27th the result would be known after elections were held in three states.

Horesokwho considers himself the winner of the elections, went to the headquarters of the Electoral Commission to demand that the results be published to ratify his victory over Mendoza.

Ojeda said on Friday May 27 in the Election Commission of the UCV that there were a series of irregularities that have been discovered by the students, who last Wednesday the 25th held the elections to elect the new representatives of the FCU.
