David Perdiguero said goodbye to Real Santa Cruz, but leaves the door open

Faced with reports that David Perdiguero had renewed his contract with Real Santa Cruz, the Spanish DT decided to clarify in a statement that such a situation was not true and, on the contrary, decided to say goodbye to the alba institution since his contract ends on the last day of this year.

“Nothing has happened since the championship ended. We did not meet again, no one called me at any time, we did not reach any negotiation and many media took it for granted that he was renovating. That situation hurt a bit and on Monday night I had to make a statement saying goodbye to the club, although that does not mean a resignation, “explained Perdiguero.

The coach has been in Spain for ten days, where he traveled with his family to spend the end of the year parties. He feels very grateful to Real Santa Cruz for having opened the doors to Bolivian soccer.

“I am grateful to the club for the opportunity it has given me, especially to the Gadea family. I had already done a project in which he contemplated the hiring of some 15 reinforcements, because several Real players also left, but nobody told me anything to continue, “said the Spaniard to DIEZ.

Perdiguero made a positive assessment of his stay at Real Santa Cruz, acknowledging that he is open to any negotiation. In case the leadership contacts him he will sit down to negotiate with open arms.

“I am enjoying the holidays with my family, but I can’t stop thinking about Bolivian soccer. With my coaching staff we are analyzing the teams and the new transfer market, because in football you have to be up-to-date. Real Santa Cruz will always be my club, I will always be grateful and it will always be my first option, “concluded Perdiguero.

The Spanish assumed the technical leadership of Real Santa Cruz on July 22 replacing Nestor Clausen, who had resigned from office. He was unable to qualify for the Copa Sudamericana, but he did comply with something he said upon arrival, that he would try not to lose any games at home.

Real Santa Cruz finished the 2021 Unique Championship of the Professional Division in eleventh place, with 38 points.
