Panamanian coach David Beluche won the gold medal at the Orlando Summer International Open IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2023; while his compatriot Lucas Goldner, this time fell in a great fight at the Pan Kids IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2023, both events held this weekend in the United States.
Beluche took the honors in the middleweight black belt master category, defeating Canadian Eric Nadon in the final, also leaving athletes Felipe Luca Da Silva and Marco Bisco de Luna on the way to gold.
“We are very happy with this victory and proud of this victory for Panama, in a tournament as important as this, which brings together the best exponents of this discipline,” said Beluche.
The 35-year-old champion has had a long career as an athlete and coach, in the latter facet he has directed Lucas Goldner’s Jiujitsu training, who had just won the gold medal in the 140-pound division of the 14-15 year-old category, in the martial arts tournament, organized by the North American Grappling Association (NAGA), held in Orlando, Florida, United States.
On this occasion, Lucas lost to Arthur Da Silva de Pimienta, in the quarterfinals of the teen 3, green, medium heavyweight category. It should be noted that Pimienta lost the final against Mauricio Rody Soares.
Goldner highlighted, after the fight, that it was a great fight and a great learning experience.
The Panamanian has trained jiujitsu for 12 years, 10 of them under the guidance of Beluche. In addition, he has achieved three world championship wins and several more national and international championship wins.
