Ana Maria Melgardaughter of the man who on April 2 brutally beat the taxi driver Juan Carlos Villavicencio and left him with a 35-day impediment, reappeared on social networks with a video to defend the alleged innocence of his father and ratify her version that the driver was following her with other intentions.
“I make this video to clarify the injustice and nightmare that I have been living since Sunday, April 2. I was working at the Expobebé fair, I was going home to have dinner with my parents. This man followed me and told me, (he said) ‘for my love, stand up baby’. I looked at him and saw his depraved face,” he recounts in the video.
He stated that this situation would have caused him fear, so he decided to speed up and call his father, Jaime Melgar. “I told him that there was a man who was yelling at me and insulting me. Since I suffer from tachycardia, my dad calmed me down and told me not to stop for the world.”, says Ana María.
“I don’t know what intentions he had, if it was kill me, rape me or steal my mobility. He has influence and they have gone to investigate my house, my church, and my cell as if I were a criminal,” she added.
Likewise, she asked that the investigation not only focus on her and her family, but also on the taxi driver who was attacked, since, until now, she does not know his background. “I do not justify violence for anything in the world, but My dad acted like a dad, defending his daughter.” express.
The incident occurred on the night of Sunday, April 2, when Jamie Melgar, upon hearing her daughter’s calls for help, she left her property with an iron in hand and subjected to a brutal beating against the taxi driver.
The taxi driver told the press that the young woman’s father did not even give him the opportunity to explain why he was persecuting his daughter. Jaime Melgar subjected him to beatings, while his brother, Juan Carlos Melgarwho is a police officer, did not stop the violence either.
The victim of this act has 35 days of impediment for the injuries suffered to his face and body. The man assures that he chased the girl to her house to ask her to compensate for the damage caused to her mobility, since she had hit the vehicle minutes before, but she did not stop and fled from her.
