Darío Gómez’s brother confessed that the artist was afraid of Petro’s presidency

Darío de Jesús Gómez Zapata surprised all Colombians last Tuesday after his unexpected death around 7:30 p.m. at the Las Américas clinic in Medellín. Well, the greatest exponent of popular music will always be remembered for his great musical successes, something that led him to be recognized as The King of Spite.

Since his death was known, many of his followers have dedicated messages to him through social networks, and even, some among liquor, gunpowder and their songs have paid tribute to him. They have also taken the opportunity to attend the Yesid Santos volleyball arena, which is located in the Atanasio Girardot Sports Unit; Fans have come there to say goodbye to this legend of Colombian music.

However, William Gómez, who is one of Darío Gómez’s brothers, spoke in an interview for Revista Semana, there he told details of the singer’s personal life, what his goals were and some goals he had planned for the future. But what caught my attention the most, It was when he mentioned the political position of his deceased brother and what he thought of the election of Gustavo Petro as the new president of the Republic.

“He didn’t like it very much when Petro won, he resigned himself. PBut he was very afraid of a Petro presidency, because suddenly we would become like Venezuela. That was something that bothered him quite a bit. Although we believe that this is not going to be the case”, stressed William.

This could have had repercussions in that the elected president Gustavo Petro, has not spoken after the death of the artist, and he did not express his condolences, something that current president Iván Duque and former president Álvaro Uribe Vélez did.
