Darién wants to be the protagonist in the Youth Baseball Championship

After the stoppage for the Christmas holidays, the Darién Youth Team resumed training yesterday, Tuesday, in its fort, the Metetí Stadium, informed Carlos Mosquera, the team’s technical director.

Mosquera feels that his commitment is to be in the round of eight and improve the team’s performance in the 2022 tournament, focused on going as far as possible.

“Let’s go step by step, first get into the eight and then fight hard to move on,” he said.

The Darien helmsman assured that he has put together a competitive group that at least achieves the good performance obtained by the team last year, where it managed to qualify among the eight greats of Panamanian youth baseball.

Mosquera, who was precisely born in Darién, but who trained as a baseball coach at Panama Metro, commented that this team will present a group game, that is, each of its members will contribute from their role to achieve the objectives.

“We have been adapting this team little by little, everyone has had the opportunity to show their potential. Darién will go to battle for Nacional, we have instilled humility in our players and, above all, that work as a team that is essential, ”he indicated.

Regarding the reinforcements from 18 to 20 years of age, Darién will have Jeremy Villarreal / Jasson Jimenez as Pitchers and José Prado / Dídimo Rodríguez infield.

The Darién team will play its first three games of the 2023 National Youth Baseball Championship, at home, the Metetí Stadium, on Friday, January 6 against Coclé it will be its debut, on Saturday, January 7 against Colón and on Sunday, January 8 off Panama West.
