The Colombian Presidency denounced this Tuesday death threats against the Secretary of Transparency, Andrés Idárraga, who has been sent a funeral wreath with a banner that reads “Rest in peace.”
The Administrative Department of the Presidency of the Republic (DAPRE), to which Idárraga belongs, denounced and condemned the death threats, and reaffirmed “the fight against corruption, which is a fundamental purpose for the current administration.”
The Secretary of Transparency, who is in charge of ensuring a transparent and corruption-free administration, received a message at his home on Monday a funeral wreath with a band reading “Rest in peace Andrés Idárraga,” with an anonymous delivery order from a florist.
“The National Government resolutely stresses that these types of threats will not stop the mission of discovering and exposing acts of corruption that are far removed from this government,” DAPRE said in a statement.

The relevant authorities have already been informed and “all necessary investigations are being carried out.” to identify and punish those responsible for these threats,” said the department headed by Laura Sarabia, right-hand woman of President Gustavo Petro.
Besides, They call on citizens to collaborate in clarifying these events or the threats received, “citizen collaboration is crucial to advance in the construction of a country free of corruption and violence.”

The Transparency Secretariat is a new creation in the Petro Government and was founded precisely to combat corruption, that the Presidency wants to see it “pursued relentlessly, without truce or rest.”
