Former President of the Republic Danilo Medina said yesterday that whoever tries to erase the work of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) from the Government is wasting his time.
By highlighting the strength that the PLD exhibits, the president of that political organization expressed that whoever tries to erase the work of that entity from the Government “is going to waste their time, because as the days, months and years go by, the people are going to talk much more about the return of the Dominican Liberation Party to power.
He spoke in these terms after holding a Christmas lunch with mayors, mayors, directors and directors of municipal districts of the purple organization
He also pointed out that the only challenge for the purple party to win the 2024 elections is to elect a candidate for the presidency in a short time and remain united.
“If that happens, in the 24th (2024) the purple flag and the yellow star will return to the National Palace,” he pondered.
At lunch, the ex-president invited them to remain firm in the party and indicated “that it continues to be the largest organization in the Dominican Republic, with a national structure and a powerful army of women and men serving its people.”
“The PLD is there, and we know it because we are seeing the measurements that others are making, which are not us,” reiterated the ex-president in the National House of the PLD.
Some 95 councilors participated in the meeting together with the PLD leadership represented by the organization’s president, Danilo Medina; the secretary general, Charles Mariotti; Temístocles Montás, vice president of the PLD; the members of the Political Committee Karen Ricardo and Rafael Hidalgo, among others.
