Danilo Medina: “El PLD ha pasado por momentos difíciles”

Santo Domingo.- The former president of the Republic, and president of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Danilo Medinasaid this Sunday that this political organization has gone through difficult and complicated moments internally and externally, but that these have not been excuses to maintain the unity and strength of its members and leadership.

The PLD leader spoke in these terms at the closing of the tenth congress Reinaldo Pared Perezwhich was held in recent months and in which new internal authorities were chosen.

“I want to begin my words by saying that these circumstances, through which our party has gone through, have not weakened us as an organization, but rather have served to strengthen our essence,” he argued. Medina.

Likewise, he stated that the adversities through which some of their most renowned leadersserved to see themselves, and improve their imperfections both within the party and as individuals.

The former president highlighted that, “thanks to those misfortunestoday we find ourselves in this place, reevaluating our actions as the main opposition political organization to accompany the dominican town to travel along better paths of hope.”

“Believe me when I tell you what, our party “It needs now more than ever to begin a new real political stage, and you know that very well, because you are the ones who are in the streets in contact with the people,” he said.
