A tragic accident claimed the life of a young man in Ocaña, Norte de Santander, after he lost control of his motorcycle while performing dangerous maneuvers on a avenue in the Juan XXIII neighborhood. The incident occurred in a street in the municipality, where witnesses reported that the young man tried to do high speed pirouettes.
According to preliminary versions, the victim, a young Venezuelan identified as Danilo Eduardo Larez Badía22, he lost his life in the early morning when he collided on his motorcycle against a pole of the sector, he would have raised his motorcycle in a “horse” maneuver when he lost his balance, which caused him to collide.
The impact was so strong that it suffered seriously injuries in the head and other parts of the body.
Occupators of another motorcycle who recorded their pirouettes ran to help him and called the relief agencies, who immediately transferred him to a health center. However, despite medical efforts, the young man died minutes later due to the seriousness of his injuries.
The unfortunate fact generated shock between family, friends and neighbors, who lamented the loss and warned about the growing risk that the reckless maneuvers represents in motorcycles, which in recent months have caused several accidents in the region.
The traffic authorities called on motorcyclists, especially young people, to avoid these types of street practices and comply with road safety standards. In addition, they recalled that the use of helmet and responsible driving are fundamental to prevent tragedies.
This case adds to road accident statistics in Norte de Santander, where motorcycle accidents remain one of the main causes of serious deaths and injuries, especially among drivers under 30 years.
