Daniel Soria was officially reinstated as Attorney General of the State

Lawyer Daniel Soria Luján was formally reinstated as Attorney General of the State this Friday, October 21, after the publication of the supreme resolution that establishes that the Government complied with the judicial ruling that annulled his departure from office.

The supreme resolution 201-2022-JUS It bears the signatures of the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, and the Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Félix Chero. The latter had announced the day before that he had already signed the resolution and that it was awaiting the signature of the head of state.

Daniel Soria is once again State Attorney General.

The text details that, after February 1, when the management of Aníbal Torres as Minister of Justice terminated the appointment of Soria Luján, the Judiciary issued a ruling to revoke this decision on October 11.

The Second Constitutional Court of Lima declared founded the lawsuit filed by the lawyer against the Presidential Office and the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, which annulled the supreme resolution 024-2022-JUS of his departure and reinstated his appointment.

Likewise, it is specified that on October 18, the public prosecutor of the ministry sent the resolution where the request for early execution is issued “and it is ordered to proceed to reinstate Mr. Daniel Soria Luján in the position of Attorney General of the State.”

The Ministry of Justice specifies in the resolution that all persons and authorities are obliged to abide by and comply with judicial decisions “without being able to qualify their content or their foundations, restrict their effects or interpret their scope.”

Daniel Soria claimed for delay

Lawyer Daniel Soria assured that he was going to take action before the Judiciary so that the constitutional judge who heard his request for amparo dictates measures to allow his reinstatement in office. This, after they did not allow him to enter the office of the Attorney General’s Office.
