Soria arrived with his lawyer Joseph Campos, who explained to Peru21 that his sponsor is complying with the ruling of the constitutional judge Jonathan Valencia. However, Soria himself explained that the current prosecutor Javier León told him that he “is not the person in charge of executing that decision.”
“What corresponds is that the judge makes a decision because there are warnings in the law regarding non-compliance,” Soria Luján told the press.
Campos, in turn, indicated that his client is the legitimate attorney general and that if León refuses to leave his functions “he is usurping” the position.
THE SARRATEA CASE
Valencia ordered that the Presidency of the Council of Ministers should reinstate Soria in the post, who was dismissed by the government of Pedro Castillo in February of this year after denouncing the president before the Prosecutor’s Office for not delivering the list of visitors to the passenger house Sarratea, in Breña.
