Former Public Health Minister Daniel Salinas will assume his new role as dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the Catholic University in the middle of the year, replacing Augusto Ferreira, who currently holds the position. Salinas is away and will return when he has to take over the school.
Before leaving his position as minister, Salinas had declared that he would retire from political activity and would focus on his consulting and neurologist activity in the mutual field. Also, if he could contribute from the educational field, he would too.
In a press conference, Salinas acknowledged that it would be difficult to retrace steps and reintegrate into work, but he made it clear that he would not dedicate himself to private activity, but to his consulting activity.
Regarding the health crisis, Salinas thanked all the people who contributed from his place to overcome it, and affirmed that COVID-19 will remain as another respiratory infection, but its post-COVID effects should continue to be investigated.
