The propagandist for the Ortega-Murillo dictatorship William Grigsby launched serious accusations and threats against the country’s main businessmen, calling them a “gang of criminals” and threatening them, telling them that Ortega “gave them their lives” but now “don’t complain », before what it seems that they are going to undertake.
Grigsby is the most visceral of the paid agents of the Ortega-Murillo propaganda, and in his morning program, Sin Fronteras, on Wednesday May 24, through the La Primerísima radio station, he attacked the businessmen Carlos Pellas, from Grupo Pellas and Ramiro Ortiz Mayorga, from Grupo Promérica-Banco de la Producción (Banpro), whom he pointed out as having financed the so-called “coup d’état” of 2018.
He also attacked businessmen Ernesto Fernández Holman and Piero Coen, whom he accused of having an “illicit money laundromat.” Coen is the owner of the Western Union remittance company in the country.
Regarding Pellas and Ortiz, the propagandist accused them of financing the organization Inter-American Dialogue, based in the United States, for “the purchase of weapons” during the social protests of 2018. “The armed phase of the coup, which unleashed the US, was partially financed by the tycoons,” Grigsby said recklessly, while reading a paper in which, according to him, he had the names and amounts contributed.

“This entire gang financed the purchase of weapons, the maintenance of the roadblocks, the campaign of disinformation and slander,” Grigsby accused. He also attacked recently denationalized opponent Manuel Orozco, a member of the Inter-American Dialogue, whom he called a CIA agent.
The threats
«They were saved in that hairstyle that President Ortega made of the leaders of the armed phase of the Somoza coup (referring to the imprisonment and exile of opposition leaders). These criminals in coats and ties remained unscathed, unpunished, (but) the tycoons are looking for their way”, he yelled, not daring to reveal whether the “way” would be jail or exile.

Grigsby, whose threats have been the prelude to the dictatorship’s criminal actions against opponents, insisted that “their lives (the businessmen) were spared because there was sufficient documentation and evidence of what they did in the military phase of the bang”.
According to the papers that Grigsby showed, Carlos Pellas and Ramiro Ortiz Mayoga appear as members of the Leadership Council of the Inter-American Dialogue. He accused that these Nicaraguan businessmen had donated, from their capital, between 55,000 and 99,000 dollars to that organization.

Dangerous onslaught against big capital

He stressed that he, as an international consultant, and the institution attacked by Grigsby have prestige and enjoy respect in Latin America, so much so, he affirms, that the ambassador of the dictatorship in Washington, Francisco Campbell, attends all the activities of the Inter-American Dialoguewhich summons high-level personalities from the continent.
Meanwhile, for the exiled opposition leader and political prisoner Félix Maradiaga, what Grigsby said may be marking a dangerous escalation of repression, aimed at the country’s big businessmen.
Maradiaga points out that it must be taken into account that Grigsby is a spokesman for the Ortega-Murilllo, chosen to announce the next steps of repression.
For this reason, he analyzes that Grigsby’s attack against businessmen “is not a minor thing, but an indicator that in the coming days or weeks the repression will be carried out against that sector. During his program, the political agitator of the dictatorship also attacked Latin American political leaders, whom he attacked with strong insults and accusations, because, according to him, they are part of the board of the Inter-American Dialogue.
He referred to the former president of Costa Rica, Laura Chinchilla, as a “criminal and thief.” I also call the former president of Chile and former UN Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, a criminal and slanderer. That same accusatory qualification fired at the former presidents of Chile, Ricardo Lago and Sebastián Piñera, he also called the former presidents Fernando Enrique Cardozo, of Brazil; Luis Guillermo Solis, from Costa Rica; Jorge Quiroga, from Bolivia and Juan Manuel Santo from Colombia. “They are criminals,” Grigsby accused.
