Daniel Ortega in Alba: Chávez and Fidel are more current than ever

The President of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, assured that Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro Ruz are present at the concert of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (Alba-TCP) today, more than ever.

During the Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of People’s Power of Cuba, in commemoration of the XVIII Anniversary of Alaba-TCP, the Central American president and Sandinista leader stated that the road traveled since 2004 prints more firmness to continue the battle against imperialism and oppression .

Ortega pointed out that the Alaba-TCP had an impact with solidarity in the region and generates miracles so that the Latin American and Caribbean peoples are determined to make Bolívar’s dream come true through the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States.

“We have to continue widening spaces because the battle is gigantic, we are facing a new guard that the colonialist nations nailed when the United Nations was created, after the Second World War. Who created the United Nations? Who created those principles to not comply with them? “questioned the president.

He indicated that the great challenge in the world is the refoundation of the United Nations under the principles of multipolarity, “it is time to create a new world in which the principles that must be fulfilled are established,” said President Ortega, referred to by Presidential Press.

In his speech, Daniel Ortega also denounced “the lack of shame of the United Nations”, questioning the number of times that a majority has voted within that multilateral body to suspend the blockade against Cuba. “99% of the votes have bet on that decision, but nothing happens,” he said.

He repudiated how, contrary to a response to stop the illegal coercive unilateral measures from the United States, “the sanctions intensify, the blockades, the aggressions against the people of Cuba. But this is a heroic, conscious, courageous people who are facing a battle that demands immense solidarity and greater pressure within the United Nations for it to be fulfilled.”

But instead “the decisions of the colonialist, imperialist powers are imposed,” Ortega said from Havana.

President Ortega called on those present to break this critical knot. “Imperialism must be decapitated so that peace, democracy, and stability can truly reign in the world and the principles of the United Nations are fulfilled,” he said.

He emphasized that the people of Cuba, an example of resistance and heroism, can be sure that they are not alone in this battle and that they are accompanied by the peoples of the world, even when there are governments that submit to the Yankee empire.
