The recent appointment of Francisco Whittembury as the new Minister of Housing has sparked criticism due to the unfinished works in Cajamarca and Loreto, which cost the State millions. However, the Minister of Labor and Employment Promotion, Daniel Maurate, avoided making direct comments on the situation.
Maurate, when asked about the questions regarding Whittembury, simply pointed out that the new head of the Housing Ministry had already issued a statement on the matter.
“I think he will give explanations, I think he issued a statement yesterday”Maurate said, suggesting that the minister himself should respond to these concerns.
The Minister of Labor preferred to focus on his current work and the projects he leads in his sector. At a recent event at the emblematic Daniel Alcides Carrión school and in Ucayali, Maurate promoted the Mi Carrera platform, which seeks to explore alliances with entrepreneurs to improve job opportunities for young people.
“My focus is on improving youth employment and formal employment”he stressed.
Maurate also commented on the impact that the questions about Whittembury could have on the presidential administration. According to him, these media issues divert attention from more important issues.
He added that this situation diverts attention from initiatives and activities aimed at listening to proposals from young people on self-employment and entrepreneurship.
