Two weeks have passed since Daniel Marcelo Jacinto came out of hiding. The annulment of the sentence by corruption in the Baños Químicos case, in charge of the Constitutional Courtallowed him to appear before the media to announce his return to the Provincial Municipality of Trujillo (MPT).
Likewise, the mayor entity was dismissed by agreement of the councilors in January 2020. This decision was ratified by the National Election Jury (JNE) six months later for the case Blockers. In that sense, the current burgomaster José Ruiz was provisionally in office.
In December 2022, after publicly reappearing, Marcelo indicated that he would resume his duties and that, for this, he did not need new credentials. However, from the provincial commune demanded a new pronouncement from JNE.
Procedure
“The JNE asked the Supreme Court to send the appeal (180-2020-La Libertad), which annulled the trial in December 2020. On December 12, in official letter No. 10598-2022-SG/JNE, the general secretary (e) of the JNE, Jaime Gómez, requested the secretary of the Permanent Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court, Pilar Salas, the copies marriage certificates annuls the sentence in the first instance and orders a new trial for the Blockers case.
Thus, last Friday, December 16, the Court authorized the referral of a “certified copy of the appeal judgment dated December 7, 2020” to the JNE.
In this sense, Marcelo expects the Plenary of the electoral body to issue a pronouncement in the coming days:
“I think that the greatest satisfaction, if the JNE situation occurs this week, is that (people) know why I was suspendedbecause people You may think that I am still suspended for corruption, for illegal things that the Court has clarified. It has been an abuse of the judge and the Chamber, ”he sentenced.
