Daniel Barragan submitted his resignation to Ministry of Defence before him President Pedro Castillo after staying in office for more than two months. The outgoing minister was appointed on September 23 by the head of state and was ratified in the new cabinet of Betssy Chávez.
However, in a letter addressed to the president, the resignant explains that his departure from the Defense sector is due to “personal reasons.” Along these lines, he thanks the president for the “opportunity” to integrate the current ministerial cabinet.
“I inform public opinion that, for strictly personal reasons, I have presented my irrevocable resignation from the position of Defense Minister. I thank the President of the Republic for having given me the invaluable opportunity to serve my country”, highlights Barragán’s resignation.
