“Misanthrope” (in the original “To catch a killer”, that is to say “To catch a murderer”), the new film of Damian Szifron After the international success of “Wild Tales” that he filmed a decade ago, which with an international cast proposes a police story set in the United States, it will be released in Argentine theaters on May 4, as reported today through a statement .

The film will be the first major foray of the creator of “Los Simuladores” into the Hollywood industry after “Wild Tales” traveled to all the award galas between 2014 and 2015 -including the Oscar nomination for Best International Film-, after the frustrated project of a film version of the series “Nuclear Man”.

Starring American actress shailene woodley, recognized for the “Divergent” film saga, the “Descendants” tape and the “Big Little Lies” series; The plot follows Eleanor Falco, a talented low-ranking policewoman recruited by FBI Special Agent Geoffrey Lammark (Ben Mendelsohn) to join the team looking for the perpetrator of an attack in Baltimore that left 29 dead and not a single clue.

The co-production between the United States and Canada was born as a project in 2019 and only in May will it be known both in their countries of origin and in Argentina.

Szifron co-wrote the script with jonathan wakemanwhile the photograph is also by the Argentine Javier Julia (“Wild Tales”, “Argentina, 1985”).

While preparing the presentation of this project, the filmmaker from Ramos Mejía works in the initial stages of the development of “The Simulators: The Movie”which has an estimated release date of 2024 and which will bring back the original cast of one of the most outstanding series of the early 2000s.
