The Ministry of Health reported that in the last 24 hours, 26,244 new cases and 37 deaths from Covid-19 were registered, in addition to a positivity that remains above 19% nationwide.
Of the total number of new infections, 14,484 of them presented symptoms, while 3,098 cases were asymptomatic. In addition to the fact that 119,331 patients are in the active stage and the recovered cases exceed 2 million.
With this new report, the figure of 2,162,984 people infected since the start of the pandemic was reached, while the number of deaths reached 39,721.
As for the tests, during the last 24 hours, 119,417 PCR tests were carried out, with a positivity of 19.79% at the country level and 19.77% in the Metropolitan Region, thus reaching 29,940,233 tests since the beginning of the pandemic.
Regarding hospital capacity, the Minsal pointed out that of the 2,121 critical beds enabled, there are 316 of them available.
These figures come on the eve of the estimated peak of infections for the month of February, where 40,000 cases per day would be exceeded.
