Colombia reported 1,915 new covid infections, this Wednesday, December 8. This figure was obtained after analyzing 47,329 samples (22,037 for PCR and 25,292 for antigens).

With the new positives, the country reached a historical figure, in the last year and 9 months, of 5’086.381 infections, after processing 28,478,384 tests.
Of the total infections, 4’927,104 have recovered and 12,442 remain with the active virus.

Bogotá (1,465,449), Antioquia (773,942), Valle del Cauca (418,415), Atlántico (340,433) and Cundinamarca (266,510), the areas of the country that concentrate the majority of historical infections.
Regarding deaths, 55 new ones were registered, of which 44 occurred on different days.

And the total number of deaths caused by the pandemic in the country has been 128,929.
Worldwide, 267’644,234 people have been infected with the virus and 5’277,228 have died.

Regarding vaccination, as of December 6, 64,654,779 doses against the coronavirus had been distributed in the country and 59,350,713 had been applied. And the number of fully immunized people, with one or two doses, was 25,520,817.
