The second highest-grossing Latin tour in the world was “La Última Vuelta” by Puerto Rican singer Daddy Yankee, with more than 1.9 million tickets sold and 85 performances, which came to an end this Thursday with a full house at the FTX Arena in the city of Miami.
The farewell tour of the reggaeton icon for 22 weeks through the most important stages in the United States, Canada and Latin America, made “La Última Vuelta” one of the historical events of Latin music in 2022.
Each of the 85 performances was a celebration of Yankee’s 30-year career in bringing reggaeton to the world. Always accompanied by a full band, a set of dancers with the most impressive looks and an impressive and impeccable musical proposal.
In his last concert, Daddy Yankee connected with the public between songs, dances, shouts and that carousel of hits that did not give up to his followers who enjoyed that early period that established him as the pioneer of reggaeton.
Topics like “Problema”, “Rompe”, “Machucando”, “What happened, happened”, “Emergency Call” and “Despacito”, rumbled once again to the delight of their audience.
In addition to the songs from his latest album “Legendaddy”, such as “Campeón”, “Rumbatón” and “Remix” until closing with “Gasolina”, the song that revolutionized music and created a movement worldwide forever.
Daddy Yankee, cataloged by critics of the recording industry as “the best of all time, began his tour on July 25 in Denver, Colorado, with a show that included a three-level stage.
The setup featured 3,600 square feet of holographic screen and an epic array of 180 laser beams that formed a massive wall along the length of the stage. The setup was built at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas a week prior to the start of the tour.
During these five months, Daddy Yankee broke several records, including one during the closing of his Latin American tour that took place at the Foro Sol in Mexico City in front of 325,000 spectators, between November 29 and December 4.
In Mexico, he became the only artist to achieve five consecutive concerts and more than 365,000 tickets sold, taking away the Coldplay band’s record.
