Cyclists attack Gendarmerie School located in Santiago Centro

Around 9:30 p.m. yesterday, a group of about five people attacked part of the building of the Gendarmerie School located in Santiago Centro, where they threw blunt objects, incendiaries and made scratches.

The patrol officer of the Central Santiago Prefecture, Captain Darby Beltrán, informed Radio Bío-Bío that “Carabineros attended a call at level 133 by Gendarmerie personnel. For reasons that are being investigated, some individuals, apparently cyclists, damaged a disused side door with some type of accelerant, in addition to damaging the windows that lead to the applicants’ bedrooms.

He also added that “we do not have injured students, the records will be made available to the Public Ministry for the respective diligence. Carabineros is carrying out work in the surroundings to find those responsible.

Pamphlets with images of María Luisa Toledo, mother of the Vergara Toledo brothers assassinated during the dictatorship in Villa Francia, were found at the scene. This, just two days before the first anniversary of María Luisa’s death.
