Cyber ​​Wow 2022: Fashion, beauty and technology were the most popular categories

These types of special dates that seek to promote buying and selling online are key for businesses, since according to the E-commerce Industry Report in Peru 2021-2022, 52% of Peruvians already buy through this means and at least 1 in 5 do it once a week.

First semester results

In the first half of the year, Peruvian ecommerce had a marked growth in categories linked to the home office due to the price proposal (offers) and free home delivery by some companies. Such is the case of home appliances that increased their sales by 11% and home by 4%, reported Yuriko Huayana, Country Manager of VTEX Peru. Likewise, the categories of fashion and healthy stores continue to rise.

What stands out is the increase in various sectors such as fashion and health where we have businesses such as Flora and Fauna, Quality Products, Lab Nutrition, among others that are dedicated to a more responsible type of consumption. This item had a 40% increase in sales”, indicated Yuriko Huayana.

Likewise, he specified that among the main trends, the use of Marketplaces that allow businesses to connect with each other in order to offer the consumer broader catalogs with more products and categories is being accentuated -in the development of electronic commerce in the country. ; and the Personal Shopper that maximizes the one-to-one user experience and achieves an improvement in the conversion rate and billing.

Huayana said that ecommerce is projected to maintain a growth of 30% during this year; a still positive rate if the conjunctural variables are considered and that in 2021, the figure reached 40%.

52% of Peruvians already shop exclusively online.
