Customs will make a second payment of productivity incentives

More than 2 million 800 thousand dollars were approved by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) for the payment of the 2022 productivity incentive that the workers of the Customs Authority who were unemployed demanded.

According to the director of Customs, Tayra Barsallo, an agreement was reached with the workers and the MEF to guarantee that this payment is made in two batches, the first in December 2022 and the other during the first quarter of 2023, without detriment to the payments productivity for that year.

It should be noted that since June part of the workers have received incentives.

Barsallo explained that the strike termination agreements included a non-retaliation clause against the workers who participated in the pressure actions against Customs.

Regarding the electrical problem in the Colon Free Zone, he said that this affects the operation of the works at 100%, however he assured that they are working to solve this situation.
