Santo Domingo.- The General Directorate of Customs (DGA) reported that it closed the month of January of this year with RD$21,198 million collecteda figure that becomes the highest collection recorded in the history of the institution for that period.
The Director General of Customs, Nelson Arroyohighlighted that this result represents a positive start to meeting the goal projected for the year 2026, which was established in RD$294 billion. He pointed out that these income reflect the dynamism in commercial operations and the strengthening of inspection and control processes.

The collections corresponding to January 2026 show an increase of 6.03% compared to January 2025, when the entity managed to raise RD$19,993 million.
In nominal terms, this variation represents Additional RD$1,204.77 million in relation to the same month of the previous year, thus consolidating sustained growth in customs revenues at the beginning of this fiscal year.
