With the objective of identifying requirements on infrastructure, technology, opportunities for improvement in trade flows, main obstacles and proposals for improvements, the National Customs Authority received the visit of the Secretary General of the Secretariat of Central American Economic Integration (Sieca), Francisco Lima, and the European Union ambassador for El Salvador, François Roudie.
The meeting contemplated a visit to the land where the Integrated Center is built, component of the Customs Logistics Integration Project (Pila), where the operation of the project was explained, clarifying the questions of the foreign delegation.
Another of the points visited was the Customs Office of the Office (Bond de San Isidro), where the progress of the pilot plan that seeks to implement the digitalization of the Central American Origin Certification Document (DUCA-F) was evidenced. This plan contemplates the training of officials on documentation issues, so that they are neare of changes and manage to replace the current physical document with a digital document.
This pilot plan is part of the functionalities that make up the Digital Central American Trade Platform (PDCC), regional initiative to potentiate trade facilitation processes and make them more competitive. This platform contributes avant -garde technology, real -time information, compliance with agreements, simplification and systematization of processes, promoting regional economic integration.
The delegation was attended by Edyana Hernández, advisor to the upper office; Xavier Rodríguez, head of the battery; Felipe León, head of the negotiating office; and the Sub -Administrator of the western zone, Idabelis González.
The visit of the Sieca Secretary and EU representative is part of a tour that they are developing in the different border posts of the Pacific corridor of Central America, the starting point of this important itinerary being Panama.
