The Director General of Customs, Eduardo Sanz Lovatón, will expose the competitive advantages of the Dominican Republic as an investment destination at Expo Dubai 2020, the largest international fair in the world, where more than 192 countries participate.
According to a press release, Sanz Lovatón highlights that this scenario is a great opportunity to promote the Dominican Republic as a country brand, highlighting its attractions in terms of tourism, investment, exports and culture.
“It is an ideal platform to expose the country as an attractive commercial partner, considering the diversity of the supply of national products with export potential and its high demand in international markets”, the official pointed out.
The head of the DGA said that the Dominican Republic has very desirable characteristics as an investment and export destination, such as its strategic geographical position and the availability of competitive infrastructures, which gives it great potential to be presented as a logistics hub and business center. , before an audience composed mainly of representatives of important companies from different parts of the world.
According to the statement, Sanz Lovatón’s agenda includes a meeting with representatives of the Dubai Customs Directorate General, considered a global model of efficiency and winner in 2019 of the first Platinum Award for Innovation awarded by the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM).
The meeting seeks to address issues of good practices and possible points of collaboration between both institutions. The official also plans a visit to the Jebel Ali port, the largest in the Middle East and one of the 10 most active commercial ports in the world, and to attend the presentation of the JAFZA free zone, considered a global model of operational excellence. .
