Customs collect around 15% of the budget

In 2020 3.3 trillion pesos were collected, while until September of this year tax revenues totaled 2.7 trillion pesos, according to data from the Tax Administration Service (SAT).

López Obrador said that 2,000 million pesos will be invested to improve the infrastructure of the Port of Manzanillo, “the port that moves the most goods in the country,” said the president.

Likewise, he informed that he will use resources from a trust that he received with 50,000 million pesos and now with about 90,000 million pesos destined for ports and customs.

“We are going to use resources from that trust to improve the ports and the entire customs infrastructure, which are already in the hands of the Secretary of the Navy and the Secretary of Defense to prevent smuggling, drug trafficking; corruption ”, he said.

Remittances

López Obrador took advantage of being in Colima to remember the importance of remittances for Mexico and for the entity.

This year, he said, the country is expected to receive a record $ 50 billion. “All this money reaches the bottom, to the families, reactivates the economy of the towns,” acknowledged the president.

In the case of Colima, the president stressed, the state receives three times more income from remittances than what comes from tourism.

Until September 38,000 million dollars had arrived in Mexico. It is expected that in October a figure of 4.8 billion dollars will be achieved, also a record, said López Obrador.
