The General Directorate of Customs (DGA) reported this Tuesday that it had a record September for the institution in terms of collection, by introducing to the State coffers 393.87 million dollars.
In a press release, the entity says that despite adverse weather conditions caused by the hurricane fionahad a historical month in relation to the same period in 2021, representing a relative increase of 37.92 percent, which is equivalent to an additional US$108.29 million.
Likewise, this growth in income was reflected in the local currency, where the increase in collections represented 30.02 percent compared to the month of September of the previous year.

In this sense, the general director of Customs, Eduardo Sanz Lovatonindicated that the institution has exceeded the goal re-established for that month by the Ministry of Finance by 101.79%, equivalent to a surplus of RD$370.77 million.
“We are close to meeting the goal that we set for the year 2022 of raising more than RD$212.673 million, and with a consecutive streak of two months breaking the barrier of 21 billion pesos, we feel more than hopeful of being able to achieve it. ”, expressed Sanz Lovatón.
According to the note, the institution, for the period January-September, had a cumulative collection of RD$172,585.66 million, representing a fulfillment of the income goal of 116.64%, evidencing a surplus of RD$24,621.79 million, and establishing an annual growth of 30.13%, six times more than the behavior of the national economy.
The entity represents more than 24% of the State’s tax revenue“thanks to its levels of compliance with collections, supported by the actions and projects that are being carried out for the development of the entire institution,” the information highlights.
