Cusco: veterinary catches fire and pets perish despite the efforts of firefighters (VIDEO)

Last Tuesday afternoon a large fire was recorded in the district of Wanchaq – Cusco, where a veterinarian was reduced to ashes, causing the death of pets and a great material loss in veterinary supplies.

The unfortunate event was recorded minutes after noon at the vet ‘Mascotopia Pet Shop’, located on Huayruropata streetwhere the neighbors alerted the authorities about dense smoke coming out of the interior and later fire.

Minutes later firefighters arrived from Company No. 39 of Cusco, who confined the fire, however, the presence of more units of the Companies No. 116 of San Sebastián and No. 119 of San Jerónimo was necessary in order to control and completely extinguish the flames.

“Due to the conditions of the fire, there has been quite a bit of heat inside the building. and the fire spread to the three rooms of the veterinary, but we managed to contain it and prevent it from spreading to other places, at the moment we cannot mention what caused the incident, that will merit a subsequent investigation”, said CBP Brigadier José Arellano, head of the IX Departmental Fire Department Command of Cusco.

The man in red also commented that in the emergency A total of 25 firefighters participated.of which one suffered minor burns on the shoulder, however his condition would not be of greater danger.

The flames affected the premises of an electrician mechanic who was next to the veterinary, while the EsSalud Cusco store that was on one side was not harmed.

Finally it was learned that the balance was two cats and a dog that perished in the fire, The latter managed to be rescued by firefighters, who gave him first aid and took him to a veterinarian for his attention, but unfortunately he could not resist.
