The Mayor of the District Municipality of Cusipata (Cusco), Edgar Mescco, was like missing since last Friday night, when, together with several of his officials, he held a meeting with residents of the Chillihuani community.

Finally, after an intense search, the burgomaster was found alive, as he confirmed to Mail, Edward Ochoa, nephew of the mayor, who mentioned that the Police found him in a rocky area in the community of Chillihuani, where he was hiding.
“We still don’t know exactly what happened, but apparently he was in a cave and with different clothes, so that they don’t recognize him, now they are taking him to Cusco to do the medical exams where the lawyer, he is stunned”, he pointed.
It all started last Friday afternoon, when the aforementioned mayor, along with municipal officials and several of his councillors, went to the Chillihuani peasant community, in order to deal with aspects concerning the entry of tourists to the Mountain of 7 Colors, access that is fully charged by the residents of the area.
As it was learned, there is a municipal ordinance that regulates the charge for access to the tourist site, which should be managed by the local community, something that the community members of Chillihuani would not have liked, that they undertook against municipal officials, blocking their way back to Cusipata.
By not returning to Cusipata that night, the relatives of the mayor, aldermen and others, they reported his disappearance, forming a search group with the help of the Police, which found several of the disappeared on Saturday morning, sheltering from the cold in different places.
However, as the hours passed, the mayor and his official Flavio Itallinco did not appear, having to form another Police search and rescue group, who finally found him in the Llacto area.
According to the police, both men were found with signs of hypothermia and dehydration, beginning investigations to determine what or who forced these people to hide in the place.
