Recently, and after almost 20 years, the Ministry of Culture approved the update of the Master Plan of the Sacsayhuamán National Archaeological Park, which will strengthen its conservation for future generations.

Their main claim is the repeal of Ministerial Resolution No. 0380-2024-MC, which approves the update of the aforementioned master plan. They also ask for the resignation of the Cultura Cusco technical team, who is accused of having worked without having a ‘social license’ from the community members.
Thus, the residents assigned to the ‘Union of Indigenous Communities of the Sacsayhuamán Archaeological Park’ They are located in the facilities of one of the main attractions of Cusco, interrupting the visit of hundreds of national and foreign tourists.
The protesters indicated that they will not abandon their claim until a work and consultation table is established between the Ministry of Culture and the community members. They also demand the presence of the head of Culture in Cusco.
