BEFORE:
Threats to block the Southern Mining Corridor were cleared up for now. After the residents of Ccapacmarca (Chumbivilcas) decided to unblock the highway, a similar decision was adopted by their peers in Coporaque (Espinar), until the meeting they will hold this Thursday, February 17.
The list of claims of the Coporaque protesters revolves around the creation of agro-industrial plants, equipping health centers, carrying out investment projects, the designation of a communal canon and framework agreement, the inclusion of the area as an area of direct influence and the purchase of agricultural tractors, which have already been delivered by the mining company.
Let us remember that these communities already demonstrated in a previous blockade in 2020, when they burned trucks with ore from MMG Las Bambas, The area was also declared an emergency by the authorities due to the blockades and clashes that occurred with the security forces.
