Cusco: criminal attacks the stone of the 12 angles causing irreversible damage (video)

The morning of last Tuesday, the famous stone of the 12 angles in Cusco, suffered a new attack. This time the damage was cataloged as irreversible and the authorities are after the steps of the offender who attempted against the patrimonial piece.

The incident occurred at approximately 02:00 hours on Hatunrumiyoc Street, located a few meters from the Plaza Mayor del Cusco, as far as a subject arrived to attack the stone with an object that seems to be a hammer or a chisel.

Through the videos captured by the video surveillance cameras, a man with long hair and backpack is seen, reaching the place, wobbly approaches several people who apparently flee from it, then pass again and again through the stone of the 12 angles.

The subject stares at one of the surveillance cameras and He goes to the stone of the 12 angles, to which he reaches three blows and then release your tool, pick it up and flee from the place.

“It is irreversible damage, we are worried because on other occasions the same thing has already happened, we are going to send the recommendations to the authorities, we also call citizens to make complaints to defend our heritage”he cited Jorge Moya, director of Culture Cusco.

The official cited that, according to demonstrations of the neighbors, the subject is from the area and is known in the place, its identification and subsequent capture would be given in the following hours.
