In a meeting held between the Decentralized Directorate of Culture of Cusco, the Provincial Municipality of Cusco and the leaders of the communities located in the Archaeological Park of Sacsayhuamán, they assumed agreements to promote actions in order to solve the wide problems that are registered in said park .

The director of the cultural entity, Magda Mateos, explained that Sacsayhuamán is a heritage zone where there are charges and restrictions that are applied independently of public or private property, to protect the existing archaeological heritage.
“On the one hand, we have the obligation to protect the archaeological heritage of Sacsayhuamán, on the other hand, the populations settled within the park have basic needs to satisfy. Precisely to resolve these difficulties we have established dialogue, together with the municipal government, in order to make the projects viable, analyzing technical and legal aspects “ the official explained.
In this orientation, the technical teams of Cultura Cusco and the municipal government, hold joint meetings to analyze the proposals and define the technical solutions that guarantee the execution of projects individually.
They explained that, the investment projects are different each one of them, whether they are irrigation, basic sanitation, electrification, neighborhood roads and others, therefore, it will be analyzed case by case, having as a general regulatory framework the Master Plan of Sacsayhuamán.
In the first fortnight of January, the technical meeting will take place and then, in a tripartite manner, agreements will be made to direct investment projects, prioritizing the conservation of archaeological heritage and the attention to the basic needs of the population settled in the Archaeological Park of Sacsayhuamán.
