Avenue 68 has an extension of 17.07 kilometers and crosses eight locations: Tunjuelito, Kennedy, Puente Aranda, Fontibón, Engativá, neighborhoods United, Suba and Teusaquillo. In addition, it will be one of the connection axes with the first line of the Bogotá Metro.

Although the project was scheduled to surrender in 2025, delays in the transfer of public service networks and other adjustments forced them to reschedule its completion by 2027. According to the most recent reports of the IDU, Group 5, by the Constructora Conconcreto SA, reached 96.52 % advance, compared to 79.41 % recorded at the beginning of the year.

The contract of this section was signed in May 2020 for a value of $ 246,724 million and contemplates a total period of 104 months. The preconstruction stage began on June 18, 2020 and concluded on February 17, 2021, when the work phase began. In principle, This phase would last 36 months, with termination date in February 2024, but was extended seven months due to the delays mentioned.

Avenue 68 is divided into nine work groups, and although the district has managed to deliver some sections, a wide percentage of the corridor is still over. The vehicular bridge of the eastern side of 26th Street was delivered on June 6, 2023 and a year later the western side came into operation.
