Carabineros arrested three people early Monday morning at a Forestal Arauco property, located in the commune of Curanilahue, Biobío region. Among those arrested is Rodrigo Ormenoknown as El Mentolato (43), one of the leaders of a group dedicated to theft of wood.
According to Radio Bio Bio, at the scene of the events, witnesses saw two trucks with wood and an off-road vehicle. Police officers, after receiving a notice, arrived at the sector and carried out the pertinent control. The officials showed that the subjects did not have the permits for the transfer of the species.
According to the aforementioned media, Ormeño also threatened the police with death. This incident will also be investigated.
The detainees were taken to the commune of Arauco with police escorts. All three have prior criminal records.
