Santo Domingo. -The researcher and academic Zoraima Cuello presented a study with data from 6,046 evaluations for management positions in the private sector during the IV International R&D&I Congress at the UASD, which dismantles the myths about differences between male and female leadership.
Research shows that Men and women have equivalent competencies, cognitive abilities and potential to perform roles of leadershipa key finding for the country’s equality policies and competitiveness.
The analysis, one of the most extensive carried out in RepublicDominican ca, evaluated 15 competencies, 2 cognitive abilities and 11 professional motivators through tools Multiplicity. Cuello highlighted that the data “supports models of leadership and management of talent based on merit, equity and evidence.”
The differences in skills were minimal, between 0.03 and 0.32 points on a scale of 1 to 5 while cognitive abilities did not show significant variations.
Women excelled in innovation, negotiation, collaborative leadership and pressure management while the men had slight advantages in business vision and people management with no practical impact on performance.
The study did identify differences in the work motivators; men: greater impulse towards promotion and promotions, while, the mwomen: greater orientation towards equity, purpose and significance.
Cuello maintained that the gaps are not in capacity, but in what motivates and retains talent a strategic piece of information for career programs and inclusive organizational cultures.
The research positions UNICARIBE and the Dominican Republic as references in gender studies, lleadership and management of talent, providing inputs for public policiesbusiness decisions and data-driven human development programs.
