MIAMI, United States. — Dozens of Cubans reacted in social networks to an announcement by the Banco Metropolitano de Cuba that invites the population of the island to make electronic payments in the warehouses.
The commercial, starring a well-known Cuban actress, ensures that consumers can use electronic payment and request the Caja Extra service in the commerce units where the products of the so-called basic basket are sold.
The audiovisual was highly criticized by Internet users, who questioned from the three pounds of rice that the actress bought in the ad to the state of the warehouse where it was filmed.
“I live in the municipality of Diez de Octubre. It has been more than two months since the payment by Transfermóvil and EnZona in the commerce units does not work. The administrators allege that they are changing the accounts and that the existing QR codes no longer work, until when will the change take place?” user José Bacardí wrote on Facebook.
Another Cuban, identified as José Pérez, assured that in his municipality, La Lisa, the personnel who work in warehouses and other establishments of the Ministry of Domestic Trade (MINCIN) do not know how electronic payment operations are carried out.
“They don’t know what that’s like and they never let operations go like that. That service is for taste in this municipality. It would be a great help if they taught them, because sometimes the ATMs don’t have money and that option would be very good”.
There were also those who pulled humor and assured that the winery in question was in the municipality of Marianao.
“Surely that winery is in Mariano,” user Mercedes Larin ironized.
“Where that luxury winery, what they have to do is lower prices, which are abusive,” said Cuban Laura Goyenechea.
