The institution said that 30,717 documents were renovations to Haitian citizens and that 10,089 Venezuelan citizens “were benefited from a legal immigration status in the country”, after accepting the normalization process of 2021–2022. In the case of Cubans, the DGM included them among the nationalities with “high number of documents issued” (1,245), without disaggregating how many correspond to first regularizations, renovations or other subcategories.
The entity attributed these results to an “internal process for review and strengthening protocols, redesign of procedures, and continuous training of personnel”, as well as the implementation of “a robust technological system that allows a better documentary verification, detection of frauds, and a more agile and safe attention”, in “strict compliance with the General Law of Migration 285-04 and its application regulations”.
